Abstract

AU-PT-PD MINERALIZATION IN THE ZECHSTEIN KUPFERSCHIEFER SERIES ON THE RESERVED AREAS FOR COPPER MININGAbstract. Rich Rote Faule-related Au-Pt-Pd mineralization was found in barren areas adjacent to the Lubin-Sieroszowice copper deposits. A high-grade Au-bearing belt envelopes Cu-Ag deposits along the margin of oxidised areas. Delineated prospective areas (Radwanice, Gaworzyce, Bytom Odrzański) continue easwards into the Polkowice-Sieroszowice Au-Pt-Pd deposit, which was recognized earlier in the mining area. General potential on the reserved areas totals ca. 256 Mg Au, 29 Mg Pt i 39 Mg Pd in area of approximately 184 km2. Mineralization originated from passage of metalliferous oxidised solutions and precipitated due to the interaction of these fluids with reduced carbonaceous sediments. Mineralization occurred over vast areas, thus, the Rote Faule pattern represents a significant exploration and production target.
