Abstract

THE AGGREGATE DEPOSITS FROM THE POLISH SECTOR OF THE BALTIC SEAAbstract. The paper presents complex profiles of the following aggregate deposits in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea: the Koszalin Bay, the Słupsk Bank and the Southern Middle Bank. It also shows the origin of the deposits and their geological-mining conditions. The conclusion of the research is the polygenetic type of the deposits formed as an effect of glaciofluvial processes and sea activity. The best geological-mining conditions are in the Słupsk Bank deposit. The Baltic aggregate is of high quality, comparable with the best material from land resources. The investigations of the influence of aggregate mining on the marine environment indicate that the effect is a short-lasting process and has no significant impact on the environment stability.
