Abstract

GAS EXHALATION FROM GROUNDWATERSAbstract. During the outflow of gas-saturated groundwater to the ground surface, gases are exhaled from it. This process is related to a pressure fall along the groundwater path-flow. In the case when water contains a number of different gases, their exhalation is nonuniform. The article presents theoretical background and proposes equations useful for determining the concentration and quantity of gases exhaled from water in relation to pressure. Model calculations were carried out for groundwaters from Rabka-Zdrój spa. Finally, remarks related to methods of examining the composition of gas mixture dissolved in groundwater have been included.
