Abstract

THE EXAMPLE OF USING DATA FROM GROUNDWATER MONITORING TO ANALYSE THE ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF WATER-POWER PLANTS

Abstract. This article briefly presents the main assumptions and objectives of the local groundwater monitoring conducted in the area of hydropower stations Wrocław I and Wrocław II. The monitoring network was established there, consisting of 30 observation wells in which the position of groundwater table is measured on a weekly basis. Observation wells are located on both sides of the Odra River. Measurement results are under constant analysis to be the basis for predicting the impact of lowering of water damming-up on water conditions in the vicinity of hydropower stations.
