Abstract

THE IMPACT OF EXPLOITATION OF THE MIRÓW–SROCKO–OLSZTYN INTAKE ON THE DYNAMICS OF THE QUATERNARY-JURASSIC USABLE AQUIFER NEAR CZĘSTOCHOWA (SOUTHERN POLAND)

Abstract. Reduction in groundwater exploitation by 25% in the Mirów–Srocko–Olsztyn intake, noted during the period 1997–2011, led to a significant decrease of the depth and range of the depression cone, which is recognizable on a 50km2 area near Czêstochowa (southern Poland). Such conclusion is based on the measurements of groundwater table conducted in 2011 in 101 documentation points (66 extraction wells, 12 hand-dug wells, 23 observation wells). The measurement results were compared to data presented on the Map of the Main Usable Aquifer (1997) and the Maps of the Uppermost Aquifer (2006–2008). This allowed determining the relative latitude changes of groundwater table.
