Abstract

SHALLOW GROUNDWATER TEMPERATURE IN WROC£AW CITYAbstract. The paper presents the results of measurements of shallow groundwater temperature in the territory of Wrocław City and the relation to the so-called „urban heat island”. Field measurements indicate a higher groundwater temperature by approximately 20% as calculated by the classic formula in relation to the theoretical value in non-urbanized areas. Shift of the maximum water temperature in relation to the air temperature by three months has been noticed. Such results are important for heat pump designing.
