Abstrakt

HEAVY MINERALS IN THE BE£CHATÓW LIGNITE DEPOSIT FROM THE MESOZOIC/CENOZOIC CONTACT ZONEAbstract. The paper presents the results of mineralogical studies of heavy minerals in the Bełchatów lignite deposit from the Mesozoic/Cenozoic contact zone, based on microscopic investigations. The rocks contain disthene, staurolite, zircon, tourmaline, titanium oxide minerals, monazite, pyrite and galena. Quantitative analysis shows that disthene and tourmaline are predominant among opaque heavy minerals
