Abstract

THE CONCEPT OF THE INTERACTIVE DATABASE OF POLISH HYDROGEOLOGICAL PUBLICATIONS – PROJECT SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES

Abstract. The purpose of the project Polish Hydrogeological Publications (PPH) is to create the database composed of published articles - particularly those who do not yet have their electronic versions. PPH was originally created in the Department of Geography and Geology, A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan, as the database of articles (fifteen volumes) published in the symposium “Current Problems of Hydrogeology” in the years 1980 to 2011. Custom application Polish Hydrogeological Publications (PPH) created for the articles database allows users to search the contents of the database by author of publication, title of publication, year, volume or search for keywords or author name directly in the content of the article. This last feature enables also users to search for the total number of citations of author(s) and allows the creation of statistical summaries such as the number of publications in different thematic groups in the field of hydrogeology. Once the search completed users can download the interesting articles in the form of PDF files.
