Abstract

CHEMISTRY OF THE MINERAL AND THERAPEUTIC WATER FROM IWONICZ–RYMANOW REGION (CARPATHIAN MOUNTAINS, SOUTH POLAND)Abstract. Total dissolved solids in the mineral and therapeutic water of the Iwonicz and Rymanow region range from 0.6 g/dm3to 22.6 g/dm3. The hydrochemical facies of the water are typically Cl–HCO3–Na and HCO3–Cl-Na. Origin of the mineral and therapeutic water is connected with complicated geology of the study area i.e. formation of the orogen, with multi-layered sandstone and schists, in a folded structure. Conditions of the relatively slow groundwater flow are connected with deceleration of the mineralized sinsedimentation water or metamorphic sea water replacement by flux of the infiltration water with low TDS.
