Abstract

CONCEPTION OF REORGANIZATION OF NATIONAL OBSERVATION-RESEARCH GROUNDWATER MONITORING NETWORKAbstract. New stage of reorganization of national observation-research groundwater network was launched in 2009 in the framework of PHS project: Reorganization, development and adaptation of the groundwater observation-research network to requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD). The aforementioned project is focused on increasing in total number of groundwater observation wells, piezometers and springs to 1200 monitoring points. The tasks of the project cover also development and installing of new infrastructure, aswell as further introducing of automatically measurements in hydrogeological gauging stations. The article presents main guidelines applied, in order to fulfill WFD requirements of organizing efficient groundwater national monitoring network in Poland.
