Abstract

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS OF THE PUMPING TEST IN UNSTEADY FLOW IN DIFFERENT HYDROGEOLOGICAL CONDITIONSAbstract. Test pumpings under conditions of transient flow are still rarely used in documenting groundwater resources, particularly in relation to fresh water. This paper presents interpretation of the results of pumping test conducted in three wells (A, B and C) characterized by different hydrogeological conditions. All of them were multi-step tests. Interpretations were made using the AquiferWin32 software. We examined the correctness of the selection scheme and the timing of the test. Depending on the hydrogeological model, different methods of interpretation were implemented. Correct interpretation of hydrodynamic tests depends largely on the proper design of the test method (pumping scheme). Very important is also the selection of an appropriate measuring apparatus and appropriate devices for securing the assumed pumping regime. These factors ensure the reliability of the results (measured depression at the constant discharge). Only reliable measurement data, in conjunction with a properly matched method of interpretation of the hydrogeological conditions, will allow for reliable calculation of the filter parameters of the aquifer.
