Abstrakt

DIAGENETIC PROCESSES OF HOLOCENE LACUSTRINE CHALK CAUSED BY LOADING – DISCUSSION ARTICLEAbstract. Holocene carbonate sediments (lacustrine chalk, gyttja) constitute gel, containing 55–60% of water, microcrystalline calcite and diverse organic matter. The long-lasting consolidation of lacustrine chalk and its effect are discussed. It can eventually have an influence on diagenetic processes of sediments. Microstructural analysis of lacustrine chalk provided interesting information about early diagenesis on Holocene calcareous sediment.
