Abstract

ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE POLISH BALTIC SEA BOTTOMAbstract. The authors present the engineering-geological analysis of the Polish Baltic Sea bottom in the light of the detailed studies of geological maps of the Baltic Sea bottom in scale of 1:200 000, also based on the results of detailed engineering-geological research of some fragments of the sea bottom and engineering-geological research of the coastal zone in the area of Western Pomerania. On this base, the authors present the engineering-geological units of the Polish Baltic Sea bottom. The authors present the engineering-geological units of the Polish Baltic Sea bottom. Certain geological criteria such as index of density (ID), index of liquidity (IL), angle of internal friction (Φ), cohesion (c), resistance of compression (Rc), resistance of shear (τf ), primery edometric compressibility module (Mo). The relief of the sea bottom was also analysed and the following morphological types were distinguished: flat bottom, little sloping bottom, sloping bottom, very sloping bottom, little steep bottom, steep bottom and very steep bottom.
