DETERMINATION OF A BOTTOM LAYER OF ORGANIC SOIL USING GEOPHYSICAL METHODS AT TWO TEST SITES ON THE POLISH LOWLAND

Abstract. In this paper the problem of registration of the physical image of organic soils by using chosen geophysical methods was presented. Three geophysical methods were applied to investigate the problem: ground penetrating radar, vertical electrical sounding and seismic refraction. Investigations were executed at two test sites – Żuków and Całowanie, in which an occurrence of the organic soils was affirmed. The use of geophysical methods group allowed obtaining the accurate qualification of occurrence conditions of organic soils.
