Abstrakt

THE INFLUENCE OF ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS ON MONUMENTS’ MAINTENANCE IN THE CENTRAL PART OF LVIVAbstract. The infl uence of engineering-geological conditions on monuments’ stability is discussed in this article. The main factors which weaken the buildings’ foundations are weak rocks, hydrogeological conditions, mechanical suffosion and fl ooding. The condition of buildings is getting worse because of the usage of wooden elements instead of more durable ones, by vibrations produced by considerable car traffi c and by leakages from sewage systems and waterworks.
