Abstract

INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION IN THE TRANSBOUNDARY GROUNDWATER DOMAINAbstract. The groundwater monitoring in the boundary areas of Poland is developed in several monitoring networks. The groundwater investigations cover cyclic groundwater level measurements and chemical analyses of groundwater samples for selected observation wells. The scope, form and frequency of monitoring observations is determined individual for each network. The groundwater monitoring research conducted in the Polish border zone are focused on present groundwater chemical composition recognizing and groundwater level fluctuation trends influenced by human impacts. The times at which monitoring is undertaken shall be selected so as to minimise the impact of seasonal variation on the results and so that results reflect changes in the GWB as a result of changes due to anthropogenic pressure (WFD).
