Abstract

METHODOLOGY ON THE EVALUATION OF DISPOSABLE RESOURCES OF MEDICAL WATERS FROM MUSZYNA REGION BASED ON MODELLING IN ArcGIS AND GMS SYSTEMSAbstract. GMS and ArcGIS were used to build a regional, multilayered model of the Muszyna region. A conceptual model performed in ArcGIS environment was transformed into a GMS numerical model. Local and regional flow systems were identified in fissured, porous flysh rocks of the mountainous area. The occurrence of the mineral medicinal waters is associated with the area of regional flow system drainage. A three-dimensional numerical model enables estimation of disposable resources of mineral and fresh waters. Such a model seems to be an important tool for rational groundwater exploitation in the complicated flow system of mineral and fresh waters.
