Abstract

A CONCEPTION OF GEOTHERMAL WATER DESALINATION TO IMPROVE WATER BALANCE

Abstract. Two types of geothermal energy exploitation were developed both in Poland and worldwide: a two or more wells production-injection system (closed system) – in Germany, France and Poland (e.g. Podhale, Pyrzyce, Stargard Szczeciński, Uniejów) and an open system – in Island, Slovakia, Poland (e.g. Mszczonów, Bukowina Tatrzańska, Zakopane –Szymoszkowa). The paper presents a project of a new method of geothermal water utilization based on water treatment methods known elsewhere. Implementation this method would cause the lowering high investment costs of renewable energy technology. It would also increase the growth of alternative energy sources exploration.
