Abstract

DETERMINATION OF THE VOLUME OF OIL FLOATING ON THE WATER TABLE USING NUMERIC MODELLING BY THE MARS COMPUTER SOFTWAREAbstract. The paper presents how to determine the volume of oil floating on the groundwater table, using numerical modelling by the MARS (Multiphase Areal Remediation Simulator) computer software. Physical parameters of the ground, water and oil, as well their effect on the determinations are given. Besides the ground parameters, density of the liquid must be calculated to estimate the volume of oil.
