Abstract

ACCESSORY MINERALS IN THE QUARTZ ROCK FROM THE WĄDROŻE WIELKIE AREA (FORE-SUDETIC BLOCK) – PRELIMINARY DATAAbstract. Quartz deposits of vein and metasomatic origin, occuring in the region of Wądroże Wielkie (Fore Sudetic Block), contain a variety of both ore and gangue accessory minerals including sericite, kaolinite, Fe-hydroxides (goethite), pyrite, gold, barite, apatite, zircon, copper-antimony sulfosalt with silver admicture and magnetite. Copper-arsenic sulfosalt, chalcopyrite, chalcocite, covellite, galena, sphalerite, chromite, cassiterite, xenotime, monazite, allanite, sphene, illite, chlorite, potassium feldspar, probably rutile, phengite and native bismuth were observed for the first time in the study area. There is no relationship between most of these minerals and their specific location, except for pyrite and chalcopyrite, whereas indefinite REE fluorocarbonate was observed only in coarsely crystalline vein quartz. The origin of the accessory minerals is related to the crystallization from hydrothermal solutions, their metasomatic effect on the surrounding rocks and weathering processes.
