Abstract

STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS AND MINERAL RAW MATERIALS IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE ŚWIĘTY KRZYŻ ANTICLINORIUM

Summary
Basing on the results of geological and geophysical studies the authors discuss the main problems concerning a very complicated and multi-stage tectonics of the western part of the Święty Krzyż anticlinorium. In an analysis of the structural-tectonical development of the area studied, the authors show the main development features of sedimentation and stress the actual possibilities of occurrence of both syngenetical and epigenetical iron ore and non-iron ore deposits in the individual Palaeozoic and Mesozoic lithostratigraphical beds.
Moreover, they point also at a fact that the western margin area of the Święty Krzyż, as well as its Palaeozoic basement may be regarded, on account of geological structure and facial differentiation of rock series, as a promising one in search for oil and gas deposits.
