Abstract
ON HYDROCHEMICAL INDEXES OF HYDROCARBON OCCURRENCES IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE LITHUANIAN DEPRESSION
Summary
The bore-holes Bartoszyce and Gołdap were made in the southern, peripheral part of the Lithuanian depression which is a portion of the Peribaltic syneclise. Those bore-holes allowed to recognize the sedimentary formations of the Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic and their crystalline basement, as well as to investigate the waters occurring in the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic strata. Studies on these waters permitted to analyze the hydrochemical indexes as to the occurrence of hydrocarbon deposits in the southern part of the Lithuanian depression. The possibilities of occurrence have been estimated as the positive ones.
As concerns the sandstone horizons of the Cambrian the greatest perspectives exist in the central part of the Lithuanian depression. Furthermore, of considerable interest are also the carbonate horizons of the Ordovician, Silurian and Zechstein. The Mesozoic formations are considerably less prolific ones.
