Abstract

Lito- i biostratygrafia płaszczowiny magurskiej we wschodniej części Beskidu Wyspowego (Polskie Karpaty Zewnętrzne) Lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy and structure of the Bystrica and Raća subunits of the Magura nappe have been studied in the eastern termination of the Beskid Wyspowy Range. In the Młyńczyska area a new occurrence of the Senonian-Paleocene deposits of the Bystrica subunit has been documented. Five foraminiferal zones have been proposed for the Upper Cretaceous-Lower Eocene strata. A major part of the so called Inoceramian or Ropianka Beds are Paleocene in age. Continuous facies transitions between Bystrica and Raća subunits have been found. However, this detailed geological study does not confirm the formely suggested presence of the Rača subunit tectonic window in the Młyńczyska area.
