Abstract
On the nature of some lineaments (exemplified by the Roztocze Ridge, SE Poland)
Comparison between the nets of short satellite and radar lineaments on the one hand, and the structure (on different depths) and morphotectonics of the marginal zone of the Carpathian foredeep on the other, leads to the conclusion that (he lineaments have shallow foundations: satellite lines - mainly in ihe net of near-surface faults, radar lines - in the pattern of joints and minor erosional features. At the same time the density of satellite lineaments depends on recent tectonic activity, but rhc relation is not simply a repetition (a projection upwards) of basement directions.
Porównanie sieci krótkich lineamentów satelitarnych i radarowych ze strukturą (na różnych głębokościach) i morfolektoniką odcinka brzeżnej strefy zapadliska przedkarpackiego prowadzi do wniosku, że lineamenty te mają płytkie założenia: linie satelitarne - głównie w sieci przypowierzchniowych uskoków, linie radarowe - w sieci spękań ciosowych i drobnych zagłębień erozyjnych. Jednocześnie występuje zależność gęstości lineamentów satelitarnych od współczesnej aktywności tektonicznej, zależność (a nie polega jednak na prostym reprodukowaniu kierunków wgłębnych.
