Abstract
Lichenometrical dating of landslides in the Beskid Śląski Mountains (Carpathians)
Deep structural landslides with rock walls occur in the Beskid Śląski Mountains. The walls are overgrown with Rhizocarpon lichen. On the basis o f precisely dated rock surfaces covered with lichen, a curve of thallus growth was drawn for the cool climatic zone. It allowed to estimate the ages of large landslides or of their parts which were formed in the late Holocene, in historical times.
