Rotamedusa roztocensis gen. et sp. nov., meduza z eoceńskiego fliszu karpackiego
Abstract
Rotamedusa roztocensis gen. et sp. nov., a medusa from the Eocene flysch of the Carpathians
Markings, circular in outline and made up exclusively of radial and concentric, morphological elements, were found on the upper surface of a cross-laminated sandstone layer in the Middle Eocene Hieroglyphic Beds of the Magura Series. The structures are interpreted as the counterparts of medusae, deposited from suspension with the silt size-fraction. All specimens are assigned to a common species, Rotamedusa roztocensis gen. et sp. nov., here described.
