Remarks on the group Nummulites laevigatus s.l., with the description of the new species Nummulites hagni

Abstract

The author studied nummulites from the group Nummulites laevigatus s.l., which were divided in two separate groups Nummulites laevigatus-brongniarti and Nummulites planulatus-puschi. The revision of some nummulites of these groups was made. The new species Nummulites hagni from lower Lutetian beds in Turkey was described. Nummulites hagni is the transitional form between Nummulites aff. praelaevigatus from the profile in Campo and Nummulites britannicus.
