Step-like tectonic lineation in the Magura flysch (Western Outer Carpathians)

Abstract

Schodkowa lineacja tektoniczna we fliszu magurskim The present paper gives the first description of tectonic lineation parallel to fold axes from the area of the Polish Outer Carpathians. The lineation is defined by the intersection of bedding planes and surfaces of bedding fissility with slip-surfaces of step micro-faults. The origin of the micro-faults and, consequently, the lineation is connected with shear failure of buckled sandstone layers.
