Abstract

The relief of the Tertiary top surface of the Zielona Góra Upland The surface of the Quaternary basement of the Zielona Góra Upland was formed as a result of erosional processes that occurred in this area towards the close of the Pliocene. The erosion was caused by the three times repeated invasions of continental glaciers and by the activity of melt waters. The author draws the following conclusions: The present-day surface relief of the Zielona Góra Upland corresponds in general to the Tertiary surface; The surface of the Quaternary basement is appreciably diversified, showing hypsometric differences that amount up to 100 m; The present-day hydrographic system conforms largely to the morphology of the Tertiary top surface.
