Contact relations of the ore-bearing dolomite in the Triassic of the Cracow-Silesian region

Abstract

O kontaktach dolomitu kruszconośnego z otaczającymi skałami węglanowymi Evidence is presented for replacement of the Muschelkalk limestones and early-diagenetic dolomites by the „ore-bearing dolomite”. It is suggested that the formation of the ore-bearing dolomite occurred after deposition of the Muschelkalk sequence but prior to its tectonization and jointing. The dolomitization is regarded as epigenetic and consequent upon the introduction of hydrothermal solutions at the close of Triassic time.
