Abstract
Sandy deposits Maestrichtian age in the vicinity of Miechów
Autor opisuje utwory piaszczysto-glaukonitowe z konkrecjarni fosforytowymi zalegające ponad rozmytą powierzchnią opoki w mastrychcie okolic Miechowa. Są one wykształcone przeważnie jako skały stojące na pograniczu piaskowców i opok ilastych w różnym stopniu zapiaszczonych, rzadziej jako rnargle piaszczyste czy też piaskowce wapniste. Spadek wielkości ziarna jak również zmniejszanie się ilości materiału klastycznego w miarę posuwania się z WWS na EEN pozwoliły na stwierdzenie, że w tym kierunku transportowany był materiał badanych skał.
Glauconitic-sandy rocks of Maestrichtian age, containing phosphorite concretions, are lying on an uneven scoured surface of siliceous marls in the vicinity of Miechów. They are classified on account of mineral composition as rocks intermediate between sandstones and sandy siliceous marls. Rock types referred to as sandy marls and calcareous sandstones are less frequently encountered. The decrease of grain size and abundance of detrital material in the east-north-east direction indicate that the detrital material was transported in this direction.
