Abstract
Notes on the sedimentation of the Miocene in the environs of Proszowice
W pracy opisane są ważniejsze odkrywki miocenu położone między Proszowicami a Wisłą. Odsłania się w nich kompleks przeławicających się iłów łupkowych, piasków i żwirowców ilasitych, który na podstawie mikrofauny został zaliczony do górnego tortonu. Żwirowce ilaste uważa autor za skałę utworzoną w rezultacie podmorskich zsuwów, a obserwowane zaburzenia ławic przypisuje spełzywaniu osadów, które zachodziło w czasie ich dapozyeji lub wkrótce po niej.
The author describes tiie Miocene outcrops situated between Proszowice and the Vistula River (the Carpathian foreland, 25 km NEE of Cracov). It is a complex of alternating shales, sands and mudstones containing dispersed pebbles. The complex on account of the microfauna is regarded as belonging to the Upper Tortanian. The origin of mudstones with pebbles is due to submarine slumping, and the deformations observed in the complex are caused by sliding of unconsolidated sediments durig deposition or shortly after it.
