Abstract
Stratigraphy of the Sub-Silesian series in the tectonic window of Żywiec (Western Carpathians)
W pracy niniejszej podano profil stratygraficzny utworów serii podśląskiej odsłoniętej w oknie tektonicznym na zachód od Żywca. Opisany profil obejmuje utwory górnej kredy i paleogenu. Ze wzglądu na silne zaburzenia tektoniczne w badanym obszarze przy ustalaniu następstwa warstw uwzględniono wyniki badań mikrofauny i oznaczenia dużych otwornic. Poszczególne kompleksy skalne scharakteryzowano opisami litologicznymi i opisami zawartych w nich zespołów mikrofauny.
The authors present a stratigraphic profile of beds belonging to the Sub- Silesian series exposed in the tectonic window situated to the west of Żywiec. The described profile includes the Upper Cretaceous and the Paleogene. On account of the strong tectonic disturbances existing in the investigated area, in determining the sequence of strata the authors took into consideration the results of studies concerning the microfauna and of determinations of large foraminifera. The seperate rock complexes are characterized by lithologic descriptions and accounts of the microfaunal complexes contained therein.
