Abstract

Well rehabilitation as a chance to decrease groundwater capture exploitation costs.
A b s t r a c t. The article presents the results of research on the clogging and rehabilitation (declogging) of wells of the infiltration groundwater captures in Poznañ and Bydgoszcz. Research on the capture in Poznañ showed a rapid development of well clogging processes. It was noticeable after 300–400 days of well operation, and the wells in unfavorable hydrogeochemical conditions were shut down after 4–5 years of operation in Poznań. The tests of the well’s clogging sediments showed that the main problem is clogging with iron compounds, and clogging with manganese and aluminum compounds, as well as carbonates, is of secondary importance. In reducing conditions resulting from the accumulation of organic matter, the development of clogging associated with the corrosion of steel is identified, which resulted in the precipitation of divalent iron, including sulfides and trivalent iron. On the basis of research at the water capture in Bydgoszcz, it was shown that good declogging effects can be obtained using relatively simple mechanical methods (packer pumping, pressure washing).
