Abstract

Compressibility of fine-grained soils from central Poland during constant rate of loading tests.A b s t r a c t . The article presents the results of CRL research on Mio-Pliocene clay and glacial till. The research has shown that the compressibility of fine-grained soils during a constant rate of loading tests depends on the physical properties of the soil and the adopted loading velocity. The research made it possible to determine the role of pore pressure in shaping the values of parameters describing the compressibility of cohesive soils.
