Identification and description of fine soils acc. to PN-EN ISO 14688-1:2018-05.A b s t r a c t. The principles of identification and description of soil presented in the PN-EN ISO 14688-1:2018-05 standard are clear and easy to apply. The most important step in the identification process is the determination of the primary fraction in terms of plastic behaviour. The standard provides 8 tests to distinguish between silt and silt and clay as primary fractions determining the geological and engineering properties of soil.
