Abstract

PHOTOGRAMMETRIC METHOD OF SURVEYING GEOLOGICAL EXPOSURES IN VERY LARGE SCALESSUMMARYThe paper discusses applicability of ordinary photographic camera in preparing documentation surveys of geological exposures in very large scales, e.g., 1: 10 to 1: 100. The procedure is based on the principle of single-image photogrammetry and involves processing of field photos by means of calculating elements of converter adjustment. In order to simplify geological interpretation the author suggests the use of color slides and of supplementary field marks and symbols. A series of documentary works discussed in the . paper shows a possibility of reducing time-consuming field works, and, at the same time, obtaining more accurate results than it was possible with the use of classic methods of mapping and preparing plans.
