Abstract

STUDIES ON ULTRASTRUCTURE OF FOSSILS AND THEIR BEARING FOR PALEONTOLOGYSummarySignificance of modern techniques in palaeontological investigations with special reference to the electron microscopy is discussed. Results of recent researches on ultrastructure or periderm in graptolites and pterobranchs were briefly described and contribution of electron microscopy to the growths of general theories of biomineralization has been emphasized.
