Summary

The authors describe the variability of chemical character of montmorillonite minerals that represent the component of bentonitized tuffs and tuffites and occur at the identical stratigraphic horizon of the Poręba beds (Namurian A) in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The variability in chemical composition of the montmorillonites discussed in this paper is connected with the variability in dimensions of elementar cell in the structure.
