Abstract

AN ATTEMPT AT USING THE PROPERTIES OF THE SILURIAN GRAPHITE SCHISTS DURING GEOLOGICAL MAPPING IN THE KACZAWSKIE MTS., SUDETESSummaryThe present paper deals with the results of geoelectrical researches made in the Bolków region, Kaczawskie Mts., Sudetes. The researches made using both induction and PS methods allowed to obtain anomalous effects caused by the presence of the Silurian graphite schists at the base. When mapping the extent of the graphite schists by means of geoelectrical methods, one could precisely state some details of geological structure, and draw conclusions as to the tectonical nature of the phenomena in study. Electric field registered above the outcrops of the graphite schists stretching over vast areas of the Kaczawskie Mts. represents a factor that, on the one hand, conceals the effects that can be a result of eventual sulphide mineralization, on the other hand, however, allows to trace new elements of geological structure.
