Abstract

INFLUENCE OF BITUMENS UPON CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF UNDERGROUND WATERS

Summary

The article presents some examples of geochemical reactions that can take place in the waters connected with bitumens, and points to the changes appearing in chemical properties of the waters. Basing on the analysis of hydrochemical relations in various areas, in which bitumens occur, we may draw conclusions that bitumens represent here not a favourable factor only, but are also a driving power for numerous transformations in underground waters. No doubt they also intensely influence the hydrochemical relations and may indirectly cause various epigenetical changes of geological environment.
