USE OF MAGNETIC LAGGING IN RECONNAISSANCE AND IN SEARCH FOR IRON ARE DEPOSITS

Summary

The article discusses the usefulness of magnetic logging in reconnaissance and in search for iron ore deposits. As an example a comparison is presented of the results of magnetic logging measurements. Moreover, the article contains a short characteristic of bore-hole magnetometer used in the USSR. On the other hand, the usefulness of Swedish bore- hole magnetometer HBM-III in search for iron ore deposits is broadly discussed and its range and accuracy are presented. In addition, the construction of this magnetometer is illustrated and the way of using measurement results is given, as well. Furthermore, author's conclusions are quoted emphasizing all the advantages that result from application of magnetic logging in Poland.
