Abstract

PERSPECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENT OF MINERAL RAW MATERIAL BASIS FOR NATURAL BALLAST INDUSTRY IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE BIELSKA UPLANDSummaryOn account of some difficulties appearing for many years in the supply with adequate ballast for concrete building works, a necessity arose to search for new mineral raw material Sources and for new perspective areas. As far as ballast exploitation is concerned, the author points to development possibilities to be expected within certain regions of the southern part of the Bielska Upland (Białystok region). The geological researches made in the area discussed, and the results obtained show that a possibility exists of developing mineral raw material basis for building purposes in the area studied.
