Abstract

GEOLOGICAL CROSS SECTION THROUGH THE VISTULA RIVER VALLEY IN THE VICINITIES OF DOBRZYKÓW

Summary

On the basis of 16 drillings and on detailed cartographical elaboration geological cross section has been made through the Vistula River valley, east of Gąbin. The description presents geological structure of the area studied and takes into consideration more important stages of erosion and glacitectonics. The following are deposits distinguished and described in the present paper: deposits of the Quaternary substratum (Miocene and Pliocene), deposits of the oldest glaciation, the oldest interglacial, the South-Polish Glaciation, the Great Interglacial, the Middle-Polish Glaciation, the Baltic Glaciation, as well as the Holocene deposits.
