REMARKS ON THE USEFULNESS OF DOLOMITE FROM RĘDZINY FOR PRODUCTION OF REFRACTORIES

Summary

Dolomites characterized by a high purity of chemical composition, first of all, however, those free from mineral admixtures, are used in various branches of industry. Such a mineral raw material is applied among others in building, chemical, glass and metalurgical industries, as well as in refractory ceramics industry. In Poland there are some dolomite deposits, the raw material of which might find a use for production of certain refractories. Of special significance are dolomitic marbles from the Lower Silesia, grouped in three main areas: eastern margin of the Karkonosze Mts., metamorphic cover of the Strzelino granite massif and Eastern Sudetes. The present author gives a description of the deposit occurring at Rędziny (eastern Karkonosze Mts.), and analyses, on the results of the last researches, its usefulness for production of refractories.
