Abstract

THE BASES OF DETAILED SUBDIVISION OF ANHYDRITESSummaryAnhydrites, ones of the most important and widespread chemical rocks, have so far been beyond the interest of Polish geologists. However, more and more increasing drilling materials from the salinary Zechstein, being the result of increasing of the importance of the Zechstein formation in search for petroleum, copper ores and potassium-magnesium salts, have disclosed some deficiencies of the Polish geological and petrographical nomenclature with reference to the chemical rocks, particularly to the anhydrites. The article presents a proposal of the detailed nomenclature of anhydrites based on the newest German elaborations.
