BUILDING MINERAL RAW MATERIALS IN THE GAP SECTOR OF THE MIDDLE VISTULA RIVER

Summary

The author stresses a sufficient supply of building mineral raw materials for the planned . great water constructions, industrial objects, as well as road and building investments in the Middle Vistula River region. He pays attention to the use of great resources of sandstones, quartz sandstones in the Święty Krzyż Mts., chalcedonite from Tomaszów Mazowiecki - Nowe Miasto on Pilica, Krakowiec clays occurring in the region of Tarnobrzeg, and glass sands from the vicinity of Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Moreover, the importance of the processes of refining the building mineral raw materials has also been stressed and the possibility of cutting the costs of transportation of these materials has been considered. It has been demonstrated that a development of co-operation of various specialists working on the problem connected with the Vistula River development, is purposeful.
