Abstract

Blanket peat bog in the upper reaches of the Kamienica Valley (Gorce Mts., south Poland).S u m m a r y. The peat bog is situated in the upper reaches of the Kamienica valley in the Gorce Mountains, filling a part of an abandoned stream channel. The basal part of peat was laid down at the end of the Subboreal Epoch and the middle part, dominated by reed, is a result of the Subatlantic climate wetting. The peat bog is now undergoing degradation as a result of artificial drainage.
