Abstract
Probabilistic evaluation of the environment conditions; methodological issues.
S u m m a r y. A probabilistic approach is gaining popularity in evaluating conditions of the environment. Hence some useful methods of the probabilistic evaluation of the environment conditions have been presented and classified according to the degree of relying upon probabilistic measures and probability theory. Division of the methods has been introduced into frequentionistic methods and metric ones. The way of global treatment of the three sources of vagueness (randomness, fuzziness, errors) has been proposed. Theoretical and practical kinds of the environment conditions assessments have been distinguished, as well as aims and geometrical interpretation of these assessments have also been presented. Besides, two examples of aprobabilistic assessments have been referred.
