Deliming the protection zone basing on hydrogeological premises: Kampinos National Park and Bolimów Landscape Park case studies.
S u m m a r y. Hydrogeological conditions are one of the most important factors taken into consideration while delimiting the protection zone. The second important group are socio-economist factors. Basing on hydrogeological conditions, the protection zone ought to depend on factors like: groundwater circulation system, type and intensity of anthropopressure and grounwater recharging area. Depending factors, the protection zone should have various width and consider all important factors. Existing protection zone delimited around the Bolimów Landscape Park is 200 meters wide and it protects the Park against all negative factors. Moreover, there are no sources of contamination inside the protection zone. The protection zone around the Kampinos National Park, despite its width (3 kilometers) is practically useless as there are many sources of pollution within its borders. Basing on hydrogeological factors alone, the protection zone should be 800–1000 meters wide and should no include sources of pollution.
